Dr. Ruipeng Mao is currently the Director of the Institutes for Global Governance, Secretary-General of the Center for Studies on Theories and Practices of Major-country Diplomacy with Chinese Characteristics, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS). He is also the Secretary-General of Shanghai Society of International Relations and the Vice President of Shanghai Association of the United Nations Studies. His research focuses on United Nations and China’s multilateral diplomacy. He gained Doctor Degree (International Relations) from Fudan University in 2009, and BA (International Politics) from Shandong University in 2003. He used to be a Professor at Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, and was a Visiting Scholar in Davidson College (NC, United States) and in German Institute of Development and Sustainability (Bonn, Germany). He is the author of United States and the Reform of United Nations Security Council; co-author of China’s Opening-up and Global Governance; A Study of the International Outlook Guiding the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation; and the Chinese translator of Arms and Influence (by Thomas C. Schelling), and After Anarchy: Legitimacy and Power in the United Nations Security Council (by Ian Hurd).
