Dr. A. F. Wazir Ahmad serves as senior visiting scholar at SIIS from August 30 to September 28, 2026.

Dr. Ahmad is a distinguished academician and administrator with 28 years of experience in higher education, specializing in accounting, finance, taxation, and operations management. He currently serves as an Associate Professor at the ULAB School of Business, where he directs the BBA program and holds the role of Additional Director at the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).

Academic Background & Credentials

Dr. Ahmad earned his Ph.D. from the Centre for Higher Studies and Research at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). His doctoral research focused on insider trading, earnings management, and legal implications within Bangladesh's stock market. He holds an MBA in Accounting (CPA Track) from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), USA, supported by a Fulbright Fellowship and membership in the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. Additionally, he holds an MBA in Finance as well as a B. Com (Honors) and M. Com in Accounting from the University of Dhaka, where he graduated with top honors. He is also a Certified ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor.

Leadership & Administrative Roles

Throughout his career, Dr. Ahmad has demonstrated strong academic leadership. His administrative portfolio includes serving as Director and Assistant Director of the BBA Program at ULAB (2012–2022), as well as Proctor (2015–2022). Prior to joining ULAB, he served as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Business Administration at City University Bangladesh. He has also held faculty positions at Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) and Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST).

Scholarly & Professional Contributions

Dr. Ahmad’s core research interests include capital market development, consumer rights, customer knowledge management, and corporate governance. He has authored book chapters published by IGI Global, business cases, and peer-reviewed journal articles. He frequently presents at international conferences and conducts regional training programs on quality assurance, outcome-based education (OBE), and teaching methodology.

Beyond academia, Dr. Ahmad brings valuable industry experience in corporate consulting, internal audit design, and executive recruitment.
