Pan Xiaoming
Associate Research Fellow Center for Northeast Asian Studies Institute for World Economy Studies

Dr. PAN is a Associate Research Fellow at Institute of World Economy. She obtained her PhD in international economic law from Nagoya University in Japan. Her areas of expertise include macroeconomics, world economics and international trade and investment rules. Currently, she is working on the issues like the interplay of international economics and China’s economic reform, Asian economic integration and the financial, trade and investment policies of China and its key partners, such as the US, the EU and Japan. She has published papers in English, Japanese and Chinese on a wide range of issues, such China-US bilateral economic relations, China’s trade negotiation strategies and the dispute settlement system of the WTO.

Prior to joining the SIIS, she worked for Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) as a consultant. She led and participated in designing the projects, such as Asia regional economic integration, China’s domestic financial reforms and RMB Internationalization etc.. She was also a visiting research fellow at Faulty of Law in Sophia University of Japan from 2013 to 2014, and a visiting scholar at James E. Rogers College of Law of Arizona University in the United States in 2011. She was awarded as an Honorary Citizen of Qingdao, China in 1999. She also received many scholarships, such as Scholarship for Excellent Private-Funded Foreign Students.
