Dr. Jin Liangxiang serves as Director and Senior Fellow of the Center for Middle East Studies of SIIS. He is also an Executive Council Member of the Chinese Association of Middle East Studies and a Council Member of the Chinese Association of Asian and African Studies. His research focuses on major regional political security issues and current hotspots.
He has conducted short-term visits to more than 30 countries across the Middle East, Africa, North America, Europe, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. In addition, he has undertaken medium- to long-term research fellowships at several prestigious institutions worldwide, including the World Faculty of the University of Tehran (Iran), the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA, India), the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS, USA), the Baker Institute (USA), the New York and Belgium offices of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, and the Harry S. Truman Research Institute at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel).
Dr. Jin is the author of the book Domestic Sources of Iran’s Foreign Policy, published by World Affairs Press in April 2015. He has published nearly 30 academic articles in leading Chinese journals such as Contemporary International Relations, West Asia and Africa, and Journal of the Arab World Studies. He has also contributed multiple articles to influential international publications.
A frequent commentator on international affairs, he has been invited as a guest analyst by major broadcasters including CCTV, Dragon Television, Shanghai Television, Shanghai News Radio, Shenzhen TV, China Business Network, and Phoenix TV. He has published numerous opinion pieces in prominent Chinese newspapers such as Guangming Daily, Jiefang Daily, and Wenhui Daily, and has written for English-language platforms including Tehran Times, China-U.S. Focus, and Global Times.
