Institute for Foreign Policy Studies
The Institute of Foreign Policy Studies focuses on examining the diplomatic theories and policy evolutions of major powers, continuously observing the impact of international situations on China's diplomacy, and developing a major-country diplomatic theory with Chinese characteristics. Research areas cover China's multilateral diplomacy, China's relations with the Global South, and China's overall diplomacy towards developing regions.
The institute is responsible for the master's program training and disciplinary development in diplomatic studies at SIIS. It encompasses the following research areas: China's diplomatic theory, country-specific diplomatic strategies, economic diplomacy, party-to-party exchanges, and people-to-people diplomacy.
