CSIS Health Delegation Visits SIIS

On the afternoon of August 24, 2026, Vice President Li Kaisheng of the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS), met with a delegation led by Dr. J. Stephen Morrison, Senior Vice President and Director of the Global Health Policy Center at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as China-US public health cooperation and global health governance reform.

The visiting delegation also included Major General Paul Friedrichs (ret.), former inaugural Director of the White House Office of Pandemic Preparedness and Response Policy, and Senior Advisor at CSIS; Stewart Simonson, CSIS Senior Adviser and former WHO Assistant Director-General; and Michaela Simoneau, CSIS Fellow.

Dr. Wu Chunsi, Director of the Center for American Studies at SIIS; Professor Liu Kan, Associate Professor at the Institute for Global Governance Studies; and Dr. Su Liuqiang, Research Fellow at the Center for American Studies, participated in the discussion.
