ISSB Vice-Chair Hua Jingdong Visits SIIS

On April 27, 2026, President Chen Dongxiao of the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) met with Mr. Hua Jingdong, Vice-Chair of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and exchanged views on strengthening institutional cooperation and communication.

Mr. Hua Jingdong stated that the "2026 Beijing International Sustainability Conference" had just concluded. The theme of this year's conference was "Resilient Business, Shaping the Future: Promoting High-quality Adoption and Application of ISSB Standards Across Border". The conference achieved full success and attracted greater attention and influence compared to previous editions. He expressed deep appreciation for the support provided by SIIS.

President Chen Dongxiao remarked that the "2026 Beijing International Sustainability Conference" had offered a valuable learning opportunity for SIIS. He looked forward to enhanced communication and collaboration in the future with the ISSB and the Beijing Office of the IFRS Foundation to jointly contribute Chinese wisdom for promoting the global adoption of ISSB standards, advancing participation of the Global South in sustainable governance, and enhancing the capacity of Shanghai as an international financial center.

Ms. Zhang Minwen, Special Advisor to the ISSB Chair and Director of the Beijing Office of the IFRS Foundation, along with Ms. Yang Liu, Regulatory Affairs Fellow of IFRS Foundation, accompanied Mr. Hua Jingdong on the visit. SIIS participants at the meeting included Dr. Ye Qing, Director of the Institute for Public Policy and Innovation Studies, Dr. Ye Yu, Deputy Director of the Institute for World Economy, Dr. Xue Lei, Research Fellow of the Institute for World Economy Studies, and Dr. Jiang Lixiao, Assistant Director of the Institute for World Economy Studies.
