New Zealand Consul-General Ardi Barnard visits SIIS

On September 10, 2025, Prof. Li Kaisheng, Vice President of the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS), met with Ardi Barnard, Consul-General of New Zealand in Shanghai. The two sides conducted an in-depth exchange of views on global governance, current state of China’s economy and issues of common interest.
The Consul-General was accompanied by Alexandra Smithyman, Deputy Ambassador of the New Zealand Embassy in China, James Churchill, Second Secretary of the Embassy, and Timothy Vaughan-Sanders, Consul of the New Zealand Consulate-General in Shanghai.
Participants from SIIS included Director Wang Zhongmei and Deputy Director Ye Yu of the Institute for World Economy Studies, and Li Yanliang, Research Fellow of the Institute for Foreign Policy Studies.
