President of International Rescue Committee David Miliband Visits SIIS

On the afternoon of March 9, 2025, David Miliband, former UK Foreign Secretary and current President and CEO of the International Rescue Committee (IRC), visited Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS). Chen Dongxiao, President of SIIS, and Li Kaisheng, Vice President of SIIS, received the delegation. 

During the discussion, the two sides exchanged in-depth views on addressing shared global challenges and seeking cooperation amidst a turbulent international order. 

Benjamin Griffin, Political Consul at the British Consulate-General in Shanghai, accompanied the delegation. Participants from SIIS included Zhang Yinghong, Director of the Center for European Studies; Zhu Juhua, Director of the Department of International Exchanges; Ye Yu, Deputy Director of the Institute for World Economy Studies; Zhao Long, Deputy Director of the Institute for International Strategic and Security Studies; along with Zhang Xiaoyin, Research Fellow at the Institute for Foreign Policy Studies; Yao Le, Research Fellow at the Institute for Global Governance Studies; and Yu Yue from the Administrative Office.
