Ambassador of New Zealand to China Visits SIIS

On Nov. 7, 2022, H.E. Ms. Clare Fearnley, Ambassador of New Zealand to China visited SIIS and had a discussion with Professor Yang Jiemian, Chairman of the Academic Advisory Council of SIIS.

During their discussion, Ambassador Fearnley recalled her diplomatic careers in Shanghai and other parts of China and witnessed high speed developments in these regions. They also deeply discussed China’s foreign policy after the 20th CPC National Congress and how to further develop China-New Zealand bilateral relations.

Prof. Yang paid tribute to the ambassador for her great efforts to promote bilateral ties and hoped that she would continue to follow up China’s development and come back to China if there are opportunities. Ms. Zhu Juhua, Director of the Department of International Exchange and Mr. Zhang Chong from the Center for American Studies participated in the meeting.
