SIIS Hosts the 2nd Meeting of the CICA Think Tank Forum

From October 31 to November 1, 2014, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies held the international academic symposium titled "Promoting the Establishment of the Asian Security Cooperation Framework through Cooperation and Win-win Outcomes". President Chen Dongxiao presided over the conference. Mr. Cai Run, the Director of the Policy Planning Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delivered the keynote report for the conference, and Prof. Yang Jiemian, the Director of the SIIS Academic Committee, made the summary of the conference. This conference was the second international one of the "CICA Think Tank Roundtable" series made by SIIS. Scholars from China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan were invited to jointly discuss issues such as the overall situation of Asia-Pacific security cooperation, the construction of the Asian Security Cooperation Framework at the YASIC Shanghai Summit, counter-terrorism and non-traditional security cooperation in Asia, Asian economic integration and regional security, and the influence of the situation in Afghanistan on regional security.
