SIIS Hosts the 2nd International Workshop on Building Regional Security Architecture in Asia/Indo Pacific

On July 29 2018, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies co-sponsored with the Centre for Strategic and International Studies, Indonesia the Second International Workshop on Building Regional Security Architecture in Asia/Indo Pacific: Are We at Crossroads towards Strategic Anxiety or Strategic Stability?

H.E. Madame Yang Xiuping, Former Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN was present and delivered a keynote speech. The workshop was chaired by Prof. Chen Dongxiao, President of SIIS.

Over 30 experts from USA, Russia, India, Japan, ROK, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Philippines, Brunei and China attended the workshop.

During this one-day workshop, participants had an in-depth discussion about new developments in Asia/Indo Pacific and its Implications on regional security architecture building, game changing on Korean Peninsula and measures of how to manage strategic anxiety and improve strategic stability in the Asia/Indo Pacific. In the wrap-up session, President Chen Dongxiao and Mr. Jusuf Wanandi, Vice Chairman of Board of Trustees, CSIS, Indonesia delivered concluding remarks.
