H.E. Mr. Bertrand Lortholary, French Ambassador to China Visits Shanghai Institutes for International Studies

On the afternoon of December 17, Prof. Yang Jiemian, Chairman of the Academic Advisory Council of the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS), met with H.E. Mr. Bertrand Lortholary, Ambassador of France to China. The two sides held frank and constructive discussions on a range of topics, including French President Macron’s recent state visit to China, China-France relations, and China-EU relations.

Accompanying Ambassador Lortholary were Mr. Joan Valadou, Consul General of France in Shanghai; Mr. David Kibler, Deputy Consul General; and Mr. Nicolas Aslah, Consul for Political Affairs of the French Consulate General in Shanghai.

Participants from the SIIS side included Ms. Zhu Juhua, Director of the Department of International Exchanges and Cooperation; Prof. Zhang Yinghong, Director of the Center for European Studies, and Dr. Long Jing, Deputy Director; as well as Mr. Zhang Chong, Research Fellow at the Center for American Studies.
