SIIS Co-hosts the Workshop on “Arctic Revisited: Taking Stock of Developments in the Arctic”

On October 24, 2022, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) co-hosted the Workshop on “Arctic Revisited: Taking Stock of Developments in the Arctic” in collaboration with the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Shanghai.

Yang Jian, SIIS Vice President, and Lise Nordgaard, Norwegian Consul General in Shanghai, delivered opening remarks for the Workshop. Representatives from the Arctic Frontiers, Norwegian Polar Institute, Fridtjof Nansens Institutt, Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research, International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals, Polar Research Institute of China, Tongji University, and SIIS had in-depth discussion on scientific cooperation in the Arctic, implementation of the sustainable development goals in the Arctic, and new challenges in the Arctic.
