International System in Transition and Multilateral Organization Developments

Abstract: The present international system is undergoing a historical period of structural transformation and strategic adjustment. The global and regional multilateral organizations are intensifying their impacts on the development of international system. Thanks to the heightened comprehensive national strength, China’s identity in the international system and multilateral organizations is converting from a participant and cooperator to an establisher and builder. Multi-dimensional approach is applied in this book to explore the dynamics and direction of the present international system under evolution and development, examine the international regimes, multilateral international organizations and major powers’ role and interactions in the international system under transformation and offer theoretical support and policy recommendation for China to more effectively participate and shape the international system.
