Grand Matching-up: China-U.S. Mutual Strategies and Policies

Abstract: In the 21st century, China and America are undergoing a period of grand, all-dimensional matching-up. A number of causes can be identified. First, China and America are responding to great changes occurred to the world configuration and international situation. Second, their national strengths grow in different speeds both absolutely and comparatively. Third, it matters that how the world at large perceives China and America. There are four levels, namely global, regional, bilateral and domestic levels, on which the grand matching-up is unfolded. Coexistence of opportunities and challenges aside, it is certainly helpful to the success of the matching-up that the two countries share common interest and they come up with right reactions.
