It conducts research on U.S. foreign policy in general, America’s foreign policy towards China, and Sino-American relations in particular. The department also studies foreign policies by other countries on the North American continent, including Canada and those in Latin America.It has been doing research on U.S. global strategy, U.S. domestic politics and its economy, great power relations and the theories of international relations, etc.
